Expand Technology and Regulatory Expertise with New Quality and Clinical Experts
September 16, 2024
Healthmine, a leader in technology-enabled member engagement, welcomes two new additions to the Expert Advisory Services team: Donna Simon, BSN, RN as a Clinical Executive Advisor and Ana Berridge as an Executive Advisor. Both Simon and Berridge previously worked with Healthmine as contractors and will now serve as full-time consultants to enhance health plan strategies with first-hand clinical and quality knowledge.
With a team of consultants from across the industry, Healthmine unifies regulatory and plan experience, analytics and one-on-one strategic planning. Consultants are paired with health plans and vendor partners based on areas of expertise to address the unique, immediate needs of the plan and execute long-term strategies with Healthmine’s member engagement solutions.
“Simon and Berridge’s backgrounds will enhance Healthmine’s solutions with invaluable insights into health plan operations, clinical guidelines and quality performance strategies,” says Kimberly Swanson, Chief of Staff. “They’ve been amazing partners for the past few years, and we’re excited to work full-time with them on aligning our consulting and technology capabilities to enable our clients to achieve success amidst regulatory change.”
As Clinical Executive Advisor, Simon will leverage more than 25 years of clinical expertise to help plan partners develop clinical programs to improve health outcomes and help plans align with National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) accreditation standards. She previously led teams at Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina and Prisma Health, South Carolina’s largest healthcare organization.
Berridge’s expertise extends across markets to Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Exchange and Commercial health plan. She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience covering several key indicators of plan performance, including Star Ratings, health equity, Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (CAHPS) and quality improvement.
Alongside Swanson and Mallory Mueller, Vice President of Population Health and Equity, both Simon and Berridge will also guide health plans in achieving Health Plan and Health Equity Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA accreditation provides health plans with a framework for addressing evolving federal and state health equity regulations.
“Health Equity Accreditation is no longer an added benefit for health plans, but a necessary framework for helping members overcome barriers to care and to stay competitive in Stars with the introduction of the Health Equity Index,” says Mueller. “Our consultants are prepared to guide plan partners towards data-driven, holistic engagement solutions and strategies that continuously identify and address health disparities at the member-level.”
Healthmine is the leading member engagement and rewards solution focused on empowering people to take the right actions to improve their health.
